TRABTECH, or Transient Absorption Technology, protects equipment from damage by surge voltage which can caused by lighting or switching operations. Surge voltages often destroy electronic equipment and systems to a large extent. Damage is not just restricted to industrial and commercial systems, building automation and household appliances are also affected. Without effective protective measures against surge voltages, one must expect high costs for repairing or replacing the facilities affected
Power Supply Protection The measures required to protect the power supply of the systems and devices are divided into 2 or 3 stages depending on the arrestors chosen and the environmental influences to be expected. The protective devices for the individual stages differ in the level of surge arresting capacity and the protection level dependent on which protection level they belong to. In the case of a conventional 3 stage concept, the structure is as follows:-

FLASTTRAB |

In the case of a 2 stage concept, either a triggered lightning current arrestor FLASTRAB and an equipment protection/a lightning current arrestor VALVETRAB and equipment ptotection is implemented
Protection for Measuring and Control Systems (MCR) Interfaces in the area of MCR are far more sensitive to surge voltages than power supply systems. Hence, arrestors with combined protective circuits are used. These are installed directly before the signal inputs to be protected. This avoids the risk of surge voltage coupling along the conductor route between arrestor and interface
Protection for Data and Telecommunication Interfaces In protective circuits for the signal inputs of data and telecommunications terminals, combination with fast-reacting suppressor diodes and high-capacity gas-filled surge voltage arresters are used. If required for switching purposes, ohmic resistors are used as decoupling elements
